The central point of my research activities is the development and application of Magnetic Resonance spectroscopies to address biological questions. I obtained my PhD in Physics in 1995 at the University of Grenoble followed by a postdoctoral stay at the University of Würzburg (Germany), working on methodological aspects of functional and perfusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging. In 1998, I obtained an assistant professor position at Aix-Marseille University and joined the EPR group of the BIP laboratory where I became professor in 2011. Being part of the Physics department, I am teaching general physics from B. Sc. and M. Sc. students. In the last two decades, I focused my research activities on the study of protein dynamics using Site Directed Spin Labeling combined with Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (SDSL-EPR) spectroscopy. I am interested in characterizing structural transitions within proteins mostly arising from protein-protein interaction, in particular in the family of intrinsically disordered proteins. I am also involved in the development of new paramagnetic spin labels (nitroxide derivatives) aiming at enlarging the potentialities of SDSL-EPR.
